Great Dragon Hotel is one of Beijing's finest luxury business hotels. The hotel was founded in 1985 by Mr. Pao Yue-Kong, an eminent industrialist from Hong Kong. Mr Pao Yue-Kong financed the construction working together with China National Tourism Administration. Comrade Deng Xiaoping inscribed the name of the hotel and attended the opening ceromony himself. Since its founding, the Great Dragon Hotel has stood as a symbol of the patriotism of a Hong Kong merchant, as well as a symbol of China's opening policy.
